As a club it is our goal to keep the amount of equipment needed by each swimmer down to a minimum.

At the beginning of each season all swimmers will be given two Dolphin swim caps. These caps are to be worn at all swim meets by men and women. A nominal fee will be charged if additional caps are required.  While it is encouraged that all swimmers swim with a cap at practice it is up to the individual swimmer to make that decision, additional plain black caps are available free of charge for those who wish to practice with them.

The Executive is currently examing a program that would have the club re-purchase used equipment from parents when their swimmmers out grow them or choose to stop swimming. Look for more details to be announced shortly. We will also be using the website to act as a clearing house for used equipment. If you have something you would like to offer to other members of the club we will post it under a separate page.

Goggles are a must have, and are a very individual taste. Swimmers will after several attempts and the loss of several pairs of goggles find a style that suits them best, as a parent please be patient.

Kickboards will be used extensively. The club has boards available for practice however some families or swimmers may wish to purchase their own. The image below is our clubs kickboard of choice, but indvidual taste trumps recomendations.

Pull Buoys will also be a major part of our train program this year. While the club has some available to loan out it is stongly encouraged that swimmers purchase their own.

Fins - Also an integral part of our training program, it is encouraged that swimmers purchase their own fins to minimize the confusion on deck at practice so that we can get the most out of our time in the water. Speedo Split Fins or Zoomers or short fins are recommended.

For our more seasoned swimmers we would like to encourage the purchase of a freestyle training snorkle. This training aid is designed to reinforce proper body position and develop aerobic endurance.

Know that you have this equipment you'll want to have a place to keep it that will dry and allow the equipment to dry between practices. Mesh bags are an ideal solution for this and can be ordered along with the equipment you have chosen to purchase.

Parents and swimmers are welcome to shop around for equipment or they can place an order through the Quinte Dolphin Swim Club with Team-Aquatic Supplies. Orders will be placed once a month to replace suits and other equipment. Look for order sheets in your inbox or on the Dolphins boards upstairs and downstairs at the pool.
